Wix didn’t just change its organizational structure. They officially declared the death of narrow specialization.


The internal document revealed by Nir Zohar, the company’s president, written by Yaniv Even-Haim, Wix’s CTO, may be the most important document you’ll read this year about the future of work.

Bottom line: there’s no more Frontend. No more Backend. No more Mobile. There is xEngineer.

Why? Because when AI writes most of the code (as stated explicitly in the document: “AI will generate most production code”), the technical separation becomes unnecessary.



Wix’s move validates in real time what I argue in my book “Raising Superman” and in the YourMarket.Fit methodology: we’re moving from an era of Execution (performing a specific task) to an era of End-to-End Ownership (end-to-end business responsibility).


The new xEngineer isn’t just “a programmer who knows how to use AI.” They are a Micro-CEO. They are Design-First. They are a technical product manager who conducts an army of AI agents that do the “grunt work.”


But this announcement surfaces some very hard questions every manager must ask:


  • Did Wix basically kill the classic junior role today?

  • If AI does the basic work, how is a junior supposed to learn?

  • How do you build expertise in an organization that no longer has “grunt work”?

  • How do you train an employee to be an Owner from day one if they haven’t gone through the traditional bootcamp path?


This is “a world without rookies,” and it’s already here.
