HOW IT STARTED?
Hello
With over two decades of experience in the high-tech industry as an entrepreneur and product leader, I've had the privilege of guiding product teams across numerous sectors and company sizes. My journey has spanned diverse industries including semiconductors, travel, education, people analytics, AI & Machine Learning, Streaming Media, Consumer Electronics, and more. Throughout my career, I've specialized in product-market fit, strategy, team management, and market analysis, blending technical, marketing, sales, and business acumen to deliver innovative, user-centered solutions.
Currently, as VP Product at CurveTech.AI, I'm leveraging AI to address employee attrition, developing retention strategies that align with core values of innovation and empathy. Beyond my professional role, I'm a dedicated mentor and educator in product management, empowering aspiring professionals and organizations to create impactful products that solve significant problems while ensuring business viability. My passion extends to social impact, co-founding "Custom Angels," an NGO that supports bullied children. This unique blend of corporate experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to positive societal change drives my mission to help others align professional success with personal fulfillment.
My Story
Early Passion for Art
My journey to creating YourMarket.Fit began long before I entered the tech industry. As a young child in elementary school, I was deeply immersed in the world of art. I studied sculpting, painting, and the history of world art, finding in these pursuits a powerful outlet for my creativity and emotions.
I vividly remember a pivotal moment when my art teacher called my father. She strongly recommended that I continue to an art school for high school and even college, recognizing my passion and talent. My father's response was telling: "He needs to be an engineer. After he graduates, he can, as far as I'm concerned, go to a retreat in the desert and paint all day long."
The Pivot to Tech
This early experience of having my passion redirected set the stage for much of my later journey. Instead of pursuing art, I ended up attending a technical boarding school in Jerusalem, studying electronics-communications. From there, my career path seemed predetermined, leading me into the world of high-tech.
As I progressed in my career, becoming an entrepreneur and product manager, I honed my skills in identifying market opportunities and developing successful products in various domains. From semiconductors to streaming VOD, quality assurance for the canning industry with computerized vision, to edu-tech, travel-tech, AI and people analytics, to healthcare and more.
"On paper, I was successful - both professionally and economically. Yet, something was missing."
The Search for Purpose
On paper, I was successful - both professionally and economically. My "day jobs" provided stability and recognition. Yet, something was missing. Despite my achievements, I couldn't shake the feeling that I lacked a true sense of purpose in what I was doing.
I woke up one day, wondering, "How come there is so much passion and inspiration about some of the things I do and not so much in others? What is the common thread among those I do have passion about? There must be one, right? So either I can't see it or I have a very severe case of FOMO (fear of missing out), meaning, I just can't say NO."
The Custom Angels Experience
When I established "Custom Angels," an NGO comprised of bikers who help children who have been bullied or suffered from violence, this experience was transformative. For the first time since my childhood art classes, I felt the profound impact of aligning my actions with my deeply held values and passions. It was here that I rediscovered the true meaning of fulfillment and a life of service. However, this also showed me where the real problem lay: I couldn't make a living out of it!
This dissonance revealed what I call "The Gap." This gap, between what drives me, my passion, my inspiration, and what I'm good at that pays my bills, was something I had to "close." At least in my mind, this was a conflict that kept me awake many nights. I WANTED to do one thing but I HAD to do another.
Discovering My 'Why'
Inspired by my friend, Yan Yanko Kotliarsky, I embarked on a project to find my "WHY," that common thread among all the things I had and have passion about. I offered my social network friends a free meeting for coffee. I offered one hour of my time for whatever they thought they could value from me. I didn't suggest any topic or agenda; it was their time, and they could make it a social meeting, a catch-up meeting, or a mentoring session, ideation, or anything else.
I really wanted to see what people thought my value to them was. I met with over 50 different people, some of whom I had never known before; they got to know me either via the post I shared on social media or through a mutual friend who thought it would be a good idea to meet with me.
After each meeting, it became clearer and clearer to me what my "WHY" was, that common thread among everything I have ever done in my life that I was passionate about. Almost all of them sought the same thing from me, either personally or for their business/venture: Help them find their why and make it happen. Some of the quotes I received, which still give me goosebumps as I write them down, are:
"You can see through me so quickly." "I feel that I'm not being judged." "I know now what I need to do." "I know what my next chapter in life is." "You solved a dilemma I had about my startup."
"Only when I understood what drives me passionately (My Heart) and what I'm good at (My Head) could I find peace."
This personal revelation led me to a much deeper realization than I could have ever imagined. It explained to me how, after many pivots in my career, there was a eureka moment when I discovered the Product Management profession. I was always good with people, business, and technology. However, I thought that the best job to take advantage of these skills was Business Development, as you need to understand the technologies of the parties, envision how there will be a win-win situation, and have the people skills to make this happen, right?
Well, to some degree, but there was a level of creativity that was missing for me, something that was present in art, in entrepreneurship, and in product management: Imagine something that does not exist, use available resources, and make it happen for an audience/market to consume it.
This was a personal and professional epiphany!
Only when I understood what drives me passionately (My Heart) and what I'm good at (My Head) could I find peace. The two parts were no longer in conflict, but rather working harmoniously, as two guardrails in my life - one keeping my passion and meaning, and the other ensuring that I make a living.
The Birth of YourMarket.Fit
As I reflected on my experiences in product management and entrepreneurship, I realized that the methodologies we use to achieve product-market fit in business could be applied to individuals seeking personal and professional alignment.
"I believed individuals could apply proven business principles to achieve personal satisfaction and professional success."
This was the birth of YourMarket.Fit. I saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between business strategies and personal development. By treating one's career and life as a product-market fit challenge, I believed individuals could apply proven business principles to achieve personal satisfaction and professional success.
Through YourMarket.Fit, I aim to help others avoid the detours I experienced, guiding them to align their passions with their professions earlier in life. My vision is a world where people wake up excited about their work, where businesses thrive through the aligned passions of their teams, and where society benefits from the increased innovation and productivity that comes from widespread fulfillment.
This journey with YourMarket.Fit is more than just a business venture for me; it's a mission. I want to help others find their unique place in the world where they can contribute their best and live their most fulfilling lives, just as I discovered through my own experiences - from my early love of art to the creation of Custom Angels.
I believe that everyone has the potential to find their perfect "market fit" - that sweet spot where passion, skills, and market needs align. With YourMarket.Fit, I'm committed to helping you discover yours, ensuring that your talents and passions aren't redirected, but rather, are nurtured and aligned with your professional path.
